Description
Petitioners
John de . . .
Name(s)
John
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
[The petition is now largely illegible and the sense is not recoverable but seems to concern the wrongful removal of the petitioner from office].
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege. 2) Let this petition be delivered to Richard Bury so that he can show it to the king so that he can say his will.
Note
The petition can be dated by the reference to Richard de Bury in the response to 1327-1333. Bury was a close advisor to Edward III, and this petition is clearly before Bury became Bishop of Durham in 1333.
