Bedenhale requests remedy concerning a tenement in Berwick in St Mary Gate from which he was ousted by the war.1)
Nature of endorsement
They say that Spurre was seised of the tenement in the time of King Alexander . . . and afterwards it came into divers hands, and that the petitioner is nearest heir and was of the king's faith, and that the tenement is in the king's hand by the forfeiture of Lowedre.2) He should have a writ to the sheriff of Berwick to deliver the tenement to him if it is in the king's hand for that reason and no other, holding the same as Spurre formerly held it, saving the king's right.
