Men of the soke of Bolingbroke.

Nature of request
The men request remedy and the repeal of the tribunal that the men of Wainfleet purchased that all the people who take profit from a certain drain and especially of the soke should be charged for the maintenance of a drain when it is the people of Wainfleet who should maintain it. The gutter drains the lands and marshes of Lindsey, Kesteven and Holland and the men of Wainfleet have allowed it to collapse.
Nature of endorsement
It is ordered to the justices assigned etc. notwithstanding the commission made to them to distrain all those who have protection by the sea dyke, and if they find that certain men should be bound to make the repair and maintain the drain of Wainfleet, and are accustomed to do so then they should distrain them, and the others should be left in peace though they have advantage from it.
