Description

? No Petitioner named
Nature of request
The grievances and duresses made by the sheriff of Buckinghamshire and his ministers taking grain from several individuals and vills within the three hundreds of Newport Pagnell for the use of the king, whereas the king has not been served of them.
Nature of endorsement
Because it is attested before the council that the things contained in the petition are true, let the sheriff be removed and another who is sufficient be appointed, and afterwards let the grievances contained in the petition be enquired of by good men.

Note
The petition dates to the period of October 1334 to March 1336 as this is the term of Richard Warde as sheriff (List of Sheriffs, p.1). It is likely that if the response to this list of grievances is correct then the petition is late in this period, and that Warde's tenure was terminated prematurely by it (CFR 1327-37, p.475).
