Bevercote requests that the king will grant him the estate that his predecessors have had, having in the king's name the gift of all hospitals belonging to the king's patronage in Scotland when they are void
Nature of endorsement
It is attested that the king confers such hospitals, but nonetheless there is to be an enquiry by the keeper as to what was customary in the time of the kings of Scotland, and the keeper is to make arrangements in accordance with what was customary.
