Nature of request
Bermengham requests that the he is granted the first escheats and forfeitures that come into the king's hand for the great costs that he has incurred in defence of the Marches, and for his losses in men, horses and armour.
Nature of endorsement
It seems to the council, if it pleases the king, that he give to Bermengham £20 of land at the true value from forfeitures of war in Ireland, to have to him and his heirs.

The petition is dated speculatively to c. 1319 as it is clearly in the aftermath of the wars in the Ireland that drew to a close at the battle of Dundalk.
