Reference
SC 8/91/4540
Date
[1319]
Description
Petitioners
Dean and chapter of Bangor.
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
The dean and chapter requests remedy as they are collectors of the tenth in the diocese and are charged with £12 10s for the church of Llanfaes, the population there being transferred to Beaumaris and Newborough, and the manor and church not being worth more than 20s as appears by an inquisition returned into Chancery.
Nature of endorsement
The inquisition should viewed in Chancery, and if it is sufficient, let a remedy be provided upon the contents in the petition according to the tenor of the inquisition.
Places mentioned
Bangor, [Caernarfonshire, Wales]
Llanfaes, [Anglesey, Wales]
Beaumaris, [Anglesey, Wales]
Rhosfair (Newborough), [Anglesey, Wales].
Note
The petition appears to date to 1319 as an order to acquit the petitioners of a portion of the tenth seems to be a response to this petition (CCR 1318-23, p.70).
