Nature of request
The dean and chapter request that the record and process of a plea between the king and the bishop concerning the liberty and exemption of the church be brought as the plea was begun in 8 Edw. II and they have waited for 8 years for judgment, and when they have sued for judgment the justices have said that it cannot be dealt with except in parliament, and they have sued for it in parliament but it resides in the Treasury.1)

They should go to the place where the record is and have a writ to bring it out and resummons the plea, and there let justice be done, and let Adam de Fincham who sued for the king [be warned].2) Coram rege.
