John de Beggebury.
Name(s)
de Beggebury, John
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Beggebury requests that justices are assigned to deliver him as he has been imprisoned in Rochester Castle because he took the robes of Badlesmere when he was in the king's faith, though he did not take them or do anything else against the king once Badlesmere was against the king's peace.
Nature of endorsement

Note
The petition clearly dates to after the fall of Bartholomew Badlesmere in 1322 and must date to that year or the next. This is confirmed by the commission issued to deliver the gaol of Rochester of the petitioner issued on 17 May 1322 (CPR 1321-4, p.157). It was not until March 1324 that the petitioner recovered his lands, goods and chattels (CCR 1323-7, p.69).
