Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition clearly dates to after the fall of Bartholomew Badlesmere in 1322 and must date to that year or the next. This is confirmed by the commission issued to deliver the gaol of Rochester of the petitioner issued on 17 May 1322 (CPR 1321-4, p.157). It was not until March 1324 that the petitioner recovered his lands, goods and chattels (CCR 1323-7, p.69).
