Name(s)
Pulle, Walter
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Pulle requests that the sergeanty of Meath be granted to Tuyt until the heir comes of age for his service in Ireland and Scotland against the king's Irish and Scottish enemies, the sergeanty being in the king's hand by Balybynne's death.
Nature of endorsement
Let an enquiry be held on this, and the king is to be certified so that he can say his will.
Places mentioned
Dundalk, [County Louth, Ireland]
Irish Marches
Scottish Marches
Meath, [Ireland].
People mentioned
Robert de Tuyt, valet of the petitioner
Robert de Balybynne, late sergeant of Meath
Matthew Bacoun.
Note
The petition is speculatively dated to c. 1319-c. 1322 as the petition refers to the battle of Dundalk fought in 1318, and the petition is endorsed in French, so it is possible that it could be 1322 or later, though still being within the reign of Edward II.
