Nature of request
1) Byset draws attention to the serious damage to the gate at Stirling Castle and states that he is able to repair it given a little material if it pleases the king for him to do it.2) He further requests a grant of the custody of the shrievalty of Stirling to hold at farm for the term of his life according to the extent of the chamberlain of Scotland, and rendering as much to the king as others will render.1)
Nature of endorsement
To the first, the keeper of the land of Scotland and the chamberlain are to do what they see to be to the king's prophet.2) To the second, the king is not advised to do this etc.
