Nature of request
The petitioner requests restoration to offices in the churches of St Andre and St Seurin in Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion.
Nature of endorsement
Because it is attested in parliament by certain people of faith, and also of Shepeye, one of the ambassadors, that this bill contains the full truth, let the petitioner with his mainpernors be quit of all impeachments, and let writings on the part of the king to the principal officers of Guyenne to aid the supplicant to the end that he should be able to enjoy his grace without any disturbance according to the tenor of the papal bulls that he has.

John de Sheppey was Dean of Lincoln 1388-1411/12, identifying the Archbishop of Canterbury as Thomas Arundel, the only Archbishop to hold the Chancellorship during this period. The petition must therefore date to one of the periods when Arundel held both offices, Jan 1407-Dec 1409, or Jan 1412-March 1413.
