[c. 1331]

Aunsel, John
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Aunsel requests a charter of pardon of outlawry for he was indicted before Grey and his companions, justice assigned to Cambridgeshire oyer and terminer, of robbing Tylho at Linton.
Nature of endorsement
Because the king did not lose any chattels nor escheats nor any other lordship he should have a charter of pardon for the outlawry by the grace of the king, providing always that he surrenders to prison in the county where he was outlawed and stands to right at the suit of the king and of the party, if anyone wishes to speak against him.
Places mentioned
Cambridgeshire
Linton, [Cambridgeshire].
People mentioned
Roger de Grey, justice
Joan [de Tylho], widow of Robert de Tylho.
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1331 as Grey was one of those justices of oyer and terminer for Cambridgeshire in November 1331 (CCR 1330-3, p.425). The petition is likely to be a little after this.
