- The countess requests that she can take the £50 that were granted to her annually from Barnard Castle and which are in arrears from the customs of Newcastle and Hartlepool, and that she can be pardoned for victuals bought at Newcastle. She has nothing to live on as her lands in Northumberland are destroyed and her tenants killed, and she has no lands elsewhere.1)
