Nature of request
Vidal, Cardinal Bishop of Albano, states that William de Shotesham has entered the church of Rotherfield wrongly, and is holding it by force and by prohibitions to the prejudice of the cardinal, to whom it was given by papal provision. He requests a modification of this prohibition or some other remedy, so that his right and process might be made public and fully claimed by execution.
