John de Alkeleye and his two sons, who are living with the Abbot of St Augustine's, Bristol, state that the Sheriff of Gloucester received a writ to have them arrested for no cause, but drawn up by procurement. They request a remedy.

The Sheriff is to be ordered that if they find mainpernors to answer to the King, body for body, he is to have them released.

Note
CCR 1318-23 p.453 is dated 20 May 1322, and is clearly in answer to a petition, which, from its agreement with the endorsement, would seem to be this one, despite its differences from the petition itself.
