Nature of request
John de Ascy, Constable of Limerick castle, asks that commands might be given for the repair of the castle, which is in a ruinous state which makes it highly vulnerable to attack by the Irish.
Nature of endorsement
Because it is testified by the Justiciar of Ireland that the castle stands in a dangerous march, it seems to the King's council that it would be expedient for the castle to be repaired, and that the Treasurer of Ireland should be written to, to repair that castle from the issues of the aforesaid county.
