Nature of request
Nicholas de Audelege states that his brother William had sued a writ of mort d'ancestor concerning tenements in Easton and Canfield, which went as far as the assize, which found for him; but the justices then decided that he should sue a writ of formedon, as his grandfather, Henry de Audelege, had given the tenements in free marriage to William, son of William de Blancmoster, and his daughter Amice, and to the heirs of their bodies: of which none are now living. He asks either that the verdict of the assize might stand, or that he might be granted another writ, in the form which he gives in continuation.
