Nature of request
Alexander Anne, suing for the community of the city of London, states that the lords of the council decided to punish one John Neweman for falsely impeaching people of high treason from the safety of the sanctuary at Westminster, by placing him in the pillory for three days, and then imprisoning him at the King's pleasure: but that this punishment was put in respite for various reasons, and John imprisoned in the Fleet prison. Alexander now requests a writ to the Sheriff of London to put this decision into execution, or to ordain some other punishment; and also a writ to the warden of the Fleet prison to deliver John to the sheriffs.
