de Albertinis, Philip

Nature of request
Philip de Albertinis requests, both for himself and for Richard Garner, the restitution of 124 cases of white soap in two galleys of Venice seized last July in the downs of Sandwich by a navy commanded by Thomas Beaufort, Admiral of the North. It has been found before the King's council that these goods belonged to the petitioners, and letters patent have been issued for their restitution, but nothing has yet been done. They request restitution of their goods.
Nature of endorsement
[None]
Places mentioned
Sandwich, [Kent]
Venice, [Italy]
Cadiz, [Spain]
London.
People mentioned
Richard Garner
Thomas Beaufort, Admiral of the North.
Note
CCR 1402-5 p.345 is dated 17 July 1404: this might be a response to this petition, in which case it would have been presented to the parliament of January 1404, and the soap seized the previous July [1403], or an immediate response to the seizure of the soap shortly before, in which case the petition would seem to have been presented to the parliament of October 1404. CPR 1405-8 pp.228-229 is dated 1 April 1406, and states that the soap was seized in the July following 6 January, 5 Henry IV [1405]: this would seem to suggest that the petition was presented to the parliament of 1406. However, as Thomas Beaufort was no longer admiral in 1405, this dating would seem to be wrong.
