Description
Petitioners
William de Staunford.
Name(s)
de Staunford, William
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
William de Staunford states that there was an error in a case between Ralph de Southmenstre and Robert de Staunford concerning tenements in Southminster, which found in favour of Ralph, and that he has sued to bring the record of this case into King's Bench, and has shown the errors, and that the plea remains in judgment; but the judgment has been delayed since the quinzaine of Trinity in the twelfth year of the King's reign [1319], because the judges cannot agree. William asks that the justices might be ordered to bring the record into parliament, and that the judgment might be agreed on there, as the statute demands.
Nature of endorsement
It is to be done according to his petition.

Note
A note at the start of this file, dated 3 May 1932, states that 'The petitions in this file are copied in R. C. Transcripts I. 156, and appear to form part of an original file of petitions to the parliament of Michaelmas 1320. Cf. Parl. Proc. (Chancery) 5/4'. This would agree with the delay in the judgment since the quinzaine of Trinity, 12 Edward II [1319]. This petition is therefore tentatively dated to 1320.
