Nature of request
1) Writ from Edward II to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, asking them to examine the rolls and memoranda of the Exchequer to discover how the rent that the Prior of Shouldham says that he was given by John Fitz John came into the King's hand, and in whose hand it now is, and into other related matters, and to inform the King of this.2) Reply from the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer.
Nature of endorsement
[Response to SC 8/87/4323] Because from the certification of the Exchequer it appears that the rent is in the hand of Walter de Norwyz at fee farm, they are to sue against him at common law if this seems good to them.
