Nature of request
The Prior of St Saviour, keeper of the causeway between Kesteven and Holland, states that floods have inundated the causeway and surrounding lands and fields, to the great peril of those passing that way, which is the common passage to the fair at Boston. He asks that he might be able to collect toll from those passing that way with merchandise, for the repair of the causeway.

Note
CPR 1317-21 p.514 is dated 3 November 1320, and may be the result of this petition, although the Prior also presented other similar petitions, such as SC 8/71/3504. However, it seems likely that this petition, like many others from this file, does date from the Michaelmas parliament of 1320.
