Nature of request
Cassandra, widow of Wadyn de Rosse, who was beheaded at Berwick in the King's service, and executrix of his testament, states that John de Vestoun, formerly Chamberlain of Scotland received victuals for Berwick from Joan la Palmere and Adam le Clerk of Bishop's Lynn, giving them a bill for £13 10s. for this. But Joan has taken this sum from a sum of money given her by Cassandra to keep in her husband's name, and still witholds it, and yet still has the bill, so that she will be paid twice. Cassandra requests a letter under the targe to the Bishop's bailiffs to have Joan come before them, so that the truth may be inquired into, and, if it is found that Joan has both the bill and the money, that the money may be delivered to Cassandra.
Nature of endorsement
She is to have a writ in Chancery to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer to hear the complaint contained in the petition, and to do swift justice to the complainant.
