Nature of request
William de Mountagu, son and heir of William de Mountagu, states that his father leased to Ralph de Middelneye for term of life the bailiwick of West Perrot in Somerset, with the offices of beadle pertaining to it, and that because it was found after his death that it had been alienated by him, Ralph purchased a charter in Chancery to hold it of the king in chief: which William fears may be to his prejudice and disinheritance. As he is under age and in the King's wardship, he asks that this charter might be repealed and amended in such a way as is not to his disinheritance.
