Nature of request
Aiquem Guilhem, Lord of Lesparre, makes three requests:1) He requests some grace and recompense for the complete loss and destruction of his lands and possessions in the war, for which he has received no wages or provision.2) He requests the return of certain jurisdictions which were of his inheritance and from which he has been expelled.3) He states that the Seneschal of Gascony has appointed a keeper at La Granayes without consulting him, although it should be part of his inheritance and under his jurisdiction, and asks that this person might be expelled.
Nature of endorsement
The King will give him of his grace, in aid of his losses, £2000 of Bigorre.With regard to the other two petitions, the Seneschal will be ordered that if it can be established that he was newly disseised shortly before the war, the King's defender and others of the council are to be called, and the truth proved by inquisition, and if it is found that it was novel disseisin, he is to make restitution to him.
