Thomas Sy, esquire, states that on 30 November in the third year of the King's reign, he was given the office of verger or usher of the Order of the Garter in Windsor Castle for term of life, receiving wages from the issues of the manor of [Kempton]. He now asks the commons to ask the King that he might have the keeping of this manor.

Note
CPR 1401-5 p.26 is dated 30 November 1401, and CPR 1408-13 p.265 is dated 26 November 1410, and makes it clear that Thomas Sy is now dead. The petition is therefore datable to 1401-1410, and more probably to the earlier part of this period.
