Wardens of the bridge of Rochester.

Nature of request
The petitioners ask that they and their successors might have permission to purchase land and tenements to an annual value of £200, in aid both of the new bridge and to support three chaplains near the bridge. They also ask that they might be appointed for term of both their lives to survey the faults in the wardens and in the bridge, and to make repairs to it, and that commissions might be granted when necessary to suitable persons to survey the bridge and its faults, and to compel people to make reparation, and to punish those who do not do so, and to hear and determine all other articles touching the bridge.
