Nature of request
Henry Radclyff, who was appointed as the lieutenant of his late brother, John Radclyff, as Seneschal of Guyenne and Constable of Bordeaux, states that his pay, for himself and his men, is in arrears, and that Robert Lethum, the executor of John's testament, is withholding money for this. Henry requests a writ of proclamation to the Sheriff of Norfolk, to make proclamation that Robert is to account with the Barons of the Exchequer for these sums within fifteen days of the proclamation, and to pay Henry and his men.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] Be it remembered that Henry Radclyff junior of Lancashire, gentleman, and Robert Glover of Kent, yeoman, appearing in person before us in our Chancery on 2 June in the King's twenty-eighth year, stood mainprise for the aforesaid Henry Radclyff, senior, that he would satisfy the same Robert for all the [costs] and expenses that the aforesaid Robert will bear in this matter, in the case that the aforesaid Henry Radclyff senior cannot prove the material contained in this bill to be true, according to the form of the statute made and provided for this.[On dorse] A writ of the King on this at the quinzaine of Trinity.

The endorsement on the face states that the mainprise took place on 2 June, 28 Henry VI (1450). This petition would therefore have been presented to the parliament initially assembled on 6 November 1449, and adjourned several times to June 1450.
