Date
[c. 1429]
Description
Petitioners
William Parker and William Parker, his son.
Name(s)
Parker; Parker, William; William
Addressees
Commons of parliament.
Nature of request
William Parker and William his son state that they were expelled from certain tenements in Fenny Stratford by an inquisition held on the Monday after All Saints in the ninth year of the King's father [November 1421], which found, wrongly, that they belonged to John Payntour on the day he became approver of the King. They sued to the King, and were granted a commission, which held an inquisition on the Thursday after St James, in the seventh year of the present King [July 1429], which found in their favour. However, they have not been able to have justice, as the first inquisition has been lots or removed. They ask the commons to ask the King to ordain through the present parliament that they might be able to have the same advantage in law in their suit and petition as if it had not been lost.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] Let it be delivered to the lords.[On dorse] The King wills it.

Thomas Wydevyll was Sheriff of Northamptonshire between 16 November 1420 and 13 November 1423, and CPR 1416-22 p.384 is dated 8 May 1421.
