Nature of request
John Johan states that on the feast of St Bartholomew [24 August] last, a barge that he was taking to Sandwich with goods and merchandise, taking advantage of the peace between the late king and the Duke of Brittany, was attacked by two balingers of St Malo and taken there, where the goods and merchandise were disposed of and the sailors ransomed, to his great loss.
