Description

Thomas Grene (Green), knight.
Name(s)
Grene (Green), Thomas
Addressees
Commons of parliament.
Nature of request
Thomas Grene, knight, states that Henry V, on 10 February in the seventh year of his reign, assigned him, then under age and in the King's wardship, 100 marks of annual rent, to be received from certain manors in Yorkshire and Northamptonshire, but that because certain details of the payment were not specified in the letters patent for that grant, he has never been able to have the necessary writs in Chancery for payment of that sum, although he has been paid by the farmers and occupiers of those lands. He requests that the commons ask the King, by authority of this parliament, to send a writ of Chancery to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer to discharge the petitioner, and the farmers and occupiers of the lands of this sum, so that they might be acquitted of this in future with respect to the King.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] Let it be sent to the lords.[On dorse] It is to be done as is desired by the petition.
