Description
Petitioners
Amaneu de Curton.
Name(s)
de Curton, Amaneu
Addressees
[King].
Nature of request
Amaneu de Curton states that William Arnold forfeited certain lands he held of the Lord of La Mothe, for adherence to the French in the war, and that Amaneu Gerardi likewise forfeited certain lands he held of Gombaud de Cantenak. As all the lands of the Lord of La Mothe and of Gombaud de Cantenak should belong to him, by reason of his wife and of Gombaud's children, and as the custom of Bordeaux is that forfeited lands are forfeited to the immediate lord first, he requests the King's grace, and asks him to order his Seneschal to let him have these fees and hereditaments to hold as his own.
Nature of endorsement
The Lieutenant will be ordered that, when he has called those who are to be called, he is to do justice to him.
Places mentioned
Bordeaux, [Guyenne, France]
Burgum (Bourg-sur-Gironde), [Guyenne, France]

Note
No date. Clearly formerly attached to SC 8/85/4201. The petition probably dates to late Edward I/early Edward II: there seem to be mentions of the petitioner, c. 1305, in both the Gascon index and Vale, Angevin Legacy, p.131.
