Nature of request
The complaints of the abbot and convent existing under royal protection of the queen who are oppressed with debts do not dare to implead the bailiffs of Yorkshire.1) Tattershall - whose men took plough-oxen and chased them to his manor of Well and then to Cratale, and then put them to his plough.2) Walton - whose men took and incarcerated Walk and Ripon, and have destroyed their woodland at Foc, and go there with bows but will not let the abbot's foresters go with bows.3) Robert the bailiff of Ripon - he and his men took their cart oxen to carry a millstone of the archbishop, took wool of the queen and victuals of the abbey from them.1)
