[The sense of the final part of the petition is not easy to discern because of damage to the petition].
- Nature of endorsement
- Let it be ordered to the justice to enquire by oaths of knights and others of his bailiwick of what damage or nuisance to the king or others this is if the king grants the request and of all other things touching this, and the inquisition is to be returned. Thhe king is to be certified, and it is to be remembered that the abbot was present in parliament when this petition was delivered and assented that a writ be was ordered to enquire of it.
