Nature of request
The prior and convent request a writ to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer to make allowance for a sum owed to them by the king's father for victuals that he bought against the remainder of the sum that they still owe for victuals of the king's that they sold.1)
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio.2) Because the prior and his tenants are again destroyed by the Scots, and because of the costs they have been put to in the keeping of Carlisle, they should have a writ of the grace of the king to the treasurer and barons, that if they are able to know that the king be bound to the prior in the sum as the petition supposes then they are to make allowance in the debt notwithstanding the instalments, paying the remainder of what he owes to the king.
