Hendemon requests that he may receive his maintenance at Llanthony Priory in Wales or Llanthony Priory in Gloucester, as he cannot aid himself as he is a carpenter and lost a hand and his closest friends in the king's service at the battle of Dundalk.1)
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege. And it is to be considered whether it is good that the king should grant it there or elsewhere.2) If it is attested that he has this injury in the king's service, he should have advice on this.

Note
The petition is clearly after 1318 as it makes mention of the battle of Dundalk where the petitioner alleged that he had suffered the injury in the king's service. As many of the petitions in this file date to 1320, a date of c. 1320 has been adopted, and it is likely that the petition does date to 1320, if not slightly before.
