Nature of request
The mayor and commonalty request remedy concerning the frequent coming of the attorneys of the keeper of markets in Ireland claiming cognizance of all measures, weights and balances in the city, when the keeper should only come once a year and take an assize of standards of weights of the city delivered and made by the court of the king.

It is ordered to the justice of Ireland that when he call the parties he should correct the grievances, and is to have observed what is to the benefit to the king and the city

A note at the beginning of this file suggests that the petitions in it date to 1320. There is no other dating evidence for this petition so that the petition is dated speculatively in accordance with this to? 1320. Sayles thought it contemporary with SC 8/82/4090 but on what evidence is unclear.
