Name(s)
de Curtenay (Courtenay), Hugh
Addressees

Places mentioned
Isle of Wight, [Hampshire]
Christchurch, [Hampshire]

Nature of request
Curtenay requests that the council be ordered to view the record and process relating to his claim for the Isle of Wight and the manor of Christchurch which was adjourned to this parliament, and that grace and reason be done to him.
Nature of endorsement
He should sue that the process be brought, and afterwards let it be shown before the king. 2) Coram rege.
Note
The petition dates to 1320 as it refers to the case forming the subject of the petition being first brought to the parliament held at York on the octave of St Hillary, which description fits the parliament held at York on 20 January 1320. This petition was clearly submitted to the next parliament as the petition again mentions, which places it at the Westminster parliament summoned for the 6 October 1320.
