Nature of request
Burne requests a writ to the barons of the Exchequer to surcease from levying £10 until the plea concerning an error in the eyre of Kent before the king is determined. The abbot was presented before the justices in eyre for the repair of the bridge of Sturry, and was amerced £10 without being called into court and without answer. The sum is now in demand and the abbot has brought the record and process for redress.1)
