Nature of request
Broghton requests that it is ordained for his estate and his sustenance, and that it is ordered by letters to the treasurer that Broghton be paid what is due by bill from the time that he served in Scotland. He has served the king in Scotland and lost lands and rents, and lost goods and chattels in Berwick when it was lost.
Nature of endorsement
The king will speak to the treasurer on this.

The petition may well date to 1320 in accordance with the note found at the beginning of this file. The petition is certainly after 1318 as it refers to the fall of Berwick to the Scots.
