Note
The petition dates to c. 1319 as it by necessity postdates the grant of 60s. of rent to be paid to the petitioner by Isabella de Mare who had the custody of the lands of the Mare heir, and of the grant of the marriage of the heir. However, the petition does not quite square with the original grant for the petition suggests that the petitioner had by that time gained possession of the lands as well as the marriage of the heir, and was making a final effort to ultimately obtain possession of all of the land with the reversion of the dower. The petition may be a few years beyond 1319, and the petition is answered in French, so may be after 1322.
