- Vaux requests grace and remedy as the king granted him 20 marks of land in Cumberland because he had been captured in the king's war in Scotland, and a warrant was sent to the bishop of Exeter. The bishop coveted the reversion of Vaux's land at Babcary, and with the aid of the Despensers forced Vaux to make a fine for it for the 20 marks against his will and to his disinheritance.
