Reports that the bill for borrowing £10,000 from unexpended balances and for raising a loan of an additional sum of £45,000 has passed through committee in the House of Assembly. Funds are to be spent on the new lunatic asylum, extension of Glendairy Prison, erection of Harbour Police Barracks, improvements in the public market and lazaretto, the construction of a reformatory and the establishment of a system of telegraph to replace the present 'cumbrous and inefficient' system of signalling. With printed copy of bill.
