Description

Reports that Mr J W Carrington is likely to be returned to the House of Assembly in place of Mr Fleming, but that if he is not appointed attorney general he will lose rank unless as solicitor general he is allowed to have a seat in the Executive Council. Draft Colonial Office despatches state that the post of attorney general is to be offered to Mr W C Reeves; Carrington to be offered the post of chief justice of St Lucia and Tobago.
