Description

'The Tarquah Gold Fields West Africa': map showing the Ankobra River, the routes from Axim to Tarkwa and from Shama to Tarkwa, and villages. Scale: 1 inch to 4 geographical miles. Compass rose. Surveyed by Albert H Turner, Civil and Mechanical Engineer, 1882. Inset: map of the Tarkwa gold concessions; reference table to concession holders; scale: 1 inch to about 1.75 statute miles; compass indicator. Originally enclosure number 10 in Gold Coast [despatch] number 184, 28 June 1889.
