Resignation by Captain Skinner of post of superintendent of public works: forwards copy of letter from Skinner and suggests that the appointment should be offered to Mr Osbert Chadwick, or to Mr C Messervy of Trinidad. Colonial Office officials agree that Chadwick will not accept the post at the salary offered, and ask the governor to offer it to Messervy.
