Public health of St Thomas and proposed appointment of a physician: in reply to circular despatch of 21 March 1881 reports that his Executive Committee do not consider this a viable suggestion given the poor relations between the British consul in St Thomas and the medical authority there, and the limited funding available for such a post. Suggests that the recent appointment of a new governor of St Thomas might present an opportunity for the Foreign Office to raise the matter with the government of Denmark.
