The Poor Relief Act: reports that it has been brought into operation and that Mr Oswald Jones has been appointed as president of the Central Board. Dr Hutson has been transferred to the renamed post of poor law inspector (formerly inspector to the Lunatic Asylum and Lazaretto) and Mr C J Lawrance has been appointed secretary to the Board. Governor agrees that there is a need for a central workhouse, a reformatory and industrial school, and reports that plans of a new Lunatic Asylum are now being prepared. Additional accommodation is also required at Glendairy Prison and at the Lazaretto. With particulars of post of Poor Law Inspector and secretary to the Poor Law Board and related correspondence.
