Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse: his fear of being cut off from his rations have led him to draw closer to the Maas. His fears for Hesse and Brunswick. Defeat of Isenburg between Cassel and Münden. The enemy is probably besieging Hamelin. He must keep his army together so as to be ready for any eventuality. The king of Prussia has recalled his cavalry from the army, but Brunswick does not want to let them go before the arrival of the British cavalry. Dated at 'Wassenberg'. ff. 157-160
